The essentials
Petare.org is a website for reading: it has no registration, accounts, comments or forms, and it does not sell or share data with anyone.
Even so, like any website, your browser communicates with some servers when you visit it. Here we explain which ones, why, and what rights you have, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

What data is processed and why
- Technical connection data: like any website, the Petare.org server receives your IP address, the requested page, the date and time and your browser. This is used to deliver the page and keep the service secure (detecting attacks and abuse). Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR). The hosting provider keeps it in its logs only for as long as necessary for that purpose.
- YouTube videos: videos are not loaded until you press play (and, if you have not accepted it before, we ask you). Only then does your browser connect to YouTube (Google), which receives your IP and may use cookies. The “privacy-enhanced” version (youtube-nocookie.com) is used. Legal basis: your consent.
- If you email us: your address and what you tell us (and, if you send them, your photos or stories), to reply and, if agreed, publish them with the credit you indicate. Legal basis: your consent when writing to us. Kept for the duration of the conversation and then for as long as needed to handle any liabilities.
No profiles are built, no automated decisions are made and no data is sold or shared with anyone.
Third-party services
- BanaHosting (banahosting.com): hosts the website and acts as processor of the technical connection data.
- YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC): only if you play a video. Google participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of protection for transfers to the U.S.
- OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom): only on pages with a map, when you reach it, your browser downloads the map images (tiles) from its servers, which receive your IP. It uses no cookies.
- Social networks and messaging: share buttons are plain links and load nothing from those services; they only take you there if you click them.
Fonts, images, video thumbnails, the map library (Leaflet) and code are served from our own server, without Google Fonts or other content delivery networks.
Minors
The website is freely accessible and does not knowingly collect data from children under 14. If you are a minor, ask a parent or guardian to help you before writing to us.
Cookies and local storage
The website stores some preferences in your browser (theme and your cookie choice). Everything is detailed in the cookie policy.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, portability, object to its processing and withdraw your consent by writing to web.rut164@passinbox.com. We will reply within one month.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
Changes to this policy
If the way data is processed changes, this page and its date will be updated.
